I wanted to try something different with this picture. First of all this isnt cute and furry so its one change. (Though I still like fluffy things and I am going to draw them more... so you are not going to get rid of furry dragons yet! ). Secondly I put lineart on the first layer so it is the topmost now. Usually I leave it lowest and color over it. I like my normal way more but this was an interesting experiment. Lets see if I give more tries to this style later. It is just that I dont have enough patience to draw perfect outlines; I want to go and color everything immediately.
Actually I dont like this piece much... Not because how it looks now but because how it was supposed to look like after all work and spent hours! Pencil lineart was so promising but this finished piece is something else than I planned. Too much details is the main problem. You cant see the dragon under all those scales. Other problem is horrible colors! But oh well, I take this piece as a practice.
I have stared this so long that I probably know most mistakes I have done... But if you see any flaws feel free to point them out, they may be ones I havent noticed yet.
Hmm, I don't mind the heavy detailing, It makes it different from your other work : ) Nice job with the color tones (apart from the inner wing colors.....). The brownish necks scales/horns/spikes are the best looking!
One thing that might work... and I should take my own advice on this... is lightening up the lines on the scales and instead shading them with a lighter colour on the edge and a darker colour near the base of each scale. I don't know how well it will work, but I've been thinking of trying it myself for quite some time... I just never get around to it.
Anyway.. I still love it! I am horrible at drawing those frills around the head, but I really like the way you did them.

Wow i like it! I don't see why you don't like the colors, I think they fit very well The scales make it hard to see the face imo.. but still, it's a good piece!
Wow, that's a lot of scales! Cool design. It looks almost like it's smiling. I bet this took a long time to color! I only have one problem with this drawing, the scales make it look a little too flat. Maybe some stronger shades around the the body to give it a more 3d look. Awesome work!
It is just that grey makes him look so metallic - which wasn't my purpose - and those inner wings definetely weren't meant to be that pink! I was aiming to more purple color but somehow it ended up looking like that.

Yes or no question:
Is the answer to this question no?
I'm pleased with his horns too but I don't know what I was thinking when I colored those inner wings!
