Description
It is animated!
Animation is not very clear; keep staring if you can’t see it at the first glance.
I decided to dust my drawing tablet haven’t done a proper digital painting over a year and half and since I got started I tried also some animating.
I know this is nothing big and fabulous but hey – I have never animated before so I have to start somewhere, right?
But before telling more about the animating part I have to mention that painting long mane digitally is PAIN! I lost counts how many times I had to redraw the dang hair. I love drawing long flowing manes and tails traditionally so couldn’t even imagine how much it sucks digitally. These two medias are so very different. Maybe I have to stick with hairless dragons if I do more digital stuff... Or then I just paint bald horses. Do not mention a word ‘practice’ today...
Then few words about animating! Huge credits go to this tutorial:

It explains everything so well that even I had courage to try animating with these instructions.
Even if the tutorial explains everything so clearly I still had troubles to get the animation showing but luckily solution was not a complex one:
I just had to select “Cumulative layers (combine)” instead of “One frame per layer (replace)” on export phase.
Learning by trial and error.
There are still lots of things I am not happy with for example stars are blinking too fast but I couldn’t get them right.
But I’ll keep experimenting and hopefully next time when I am animating there will be something bigger than just blinking stars.
Although before I’ll do more digital stuff there are few trades to finish. ^^
Also crediting this lovely stock photo which I used for anatomy reference:

Oh and almost forgot to mention – if you didn’t already guessed – it is my Thyella again who is pictured here!
I guess it was her who was bitching again and caused all these troubles with the mane and animation!
Or then this poor imaginative creature just happens to be a victim of my experimenting which are often meant to fail or at least cause troubles...
