Stormcaller by Agaave Stormcaller by Agaave
This picture really got on my nerves! Anatomy is what it is and then the background failed miserably... What do you see here now is the character colored traditionally but background edited digitally so that there are no colors on it at all, only the textures from painting are showing. It looks much better now than my horrible color combination earlier but I am not 100 % satisfied. I still wanted to upload this picture because I spent so much time on it.

Ok, I got all that whining out of my chest so now to the fun part: who is this pwetty horsie in this picture! She is my brand new #Cavitto but this is not her registration picture yet. I will draw something basic "standing sideways" for it. And she has not revealed her name to me yet so also that makes registering her a bit difficult.

Do you see how she smiles there? She was supposed to look angry or at least serious in this picture (raising storm is a serious business) but well, it seems that she does what she likes (I bet she ruined the background too... just for fun!) All I know so far that she is a little mischievous creature but hoping to learn more so that I am able to do that registration in time...

Ok, that patterns and stuff are just freaking AWESOME! Yet not so over the top that they become unrealistic.

Seriously, where do you get ideas?

Thank you! :happybounce:

I don't know, sometimes great ideas just appear but most of the time they don't so I just have to pull something from my sleeves... :D

Majestic stormcaller ;)
I like the colors especially the white/grey mane. It reminds me of the clouds before a thunderstorm :3
The pose is also very well done. So dynamic as if she's jumping right into the storm!
And i really don't know what's worng with anatomy xD
It looks very well :)

Thank you very much! :glomp:
I am glad to hear that storm aspect shows in this picture - that was exactly what I was trying to emphasize.
(What comes to anatomy her neck is a bit too long and head too small but if no-one notices I try not to point it out myself...) :paranoid:

How did I not comment on this yet :stare: She looks gorgeous, Agaave! What a sneaky little background ruiner. Either way I think it turned out gorgeous, the gray is very stormy looking and quite nice really. Hopefully in the future she'll be less of a meanieface to draw and let you enjoy her :giggle:

You combined my wishes to such lovely design so it was really nice to draw her - if we don't take the background disaster into account. :XD:
Hopefully ruining backgrounds doesn't become a habit for her... :fear:

I really enjoyed drawing the tail and mane - I just don't know why I always have to make them so curly... :D

Duuuuude. I cannot tell you how much I adore this! So much energy and movement! I love how wildly her mane and tail are billowing! And if I hadn't read your artist's comment, I would never have known anything had gone amiss during the making of this gorgeous piece of artwork. I'm sorry the real-life picture's background didn't turn out like you wanted...but this digitally altered one looks fantastic. It goes so wonderfully with the horse's colors. Seriously, there is nothing about this I don't like. :D

Aww, thank you so much! I wasn't going to upload this at all at first - I was so annoyed that I ruined the background.
But because of this lovely feedback I am happy that I didn't give up but tried to save what was to be saved. :tighthug:

Traditional art agrees with this mare. I love how you've drawn her. I can't wait to see more of this beautiful creature.

P.S. I utterly adore how you color your mane/tails. *runs off to stalk your gallery*

Those splatters on her back are from paint sprinkled with toothbrush so it was a bit difficult to control where they landed... :XD:

Yeah, there were some problems with uploading, the picture didn't show at first for me either.
Then I just uploaded the whole deviation again and deleted the old one. It helped!

Thank you for your comment!

I hope she is happy now and stops sabotaging pictures I try to draw of her. :giggle:
